Flower School Questions & Answers

Do I need any experience in floristry?
No; we offer courses for beginners, intermediate and qualified or experienced florists.  Just let us know your level of floristry when you book.

What should I wear for the course?
You need to wear comfortable clothes and shoes and be mindful that you are working with water and pollen and clothes may get stained.  Floristry aprons will be provided to wear during the course.  Please remember that to ensure the quality of our flowers, we do not have the heating on!  Therefore, in the colder months, please dress accordingly!

What do I need to bring with me?
We will provide everything you need for the full day, including flowers and foliage, sundries, tools, apron and refreshments.

How many other people will be on the course?
We accept a maximum of 6 students on each course; larger groups are catered for on request.  We hope you will enjoy working within a small group with our friendly tutor and meet like-minded people.

Will I get a qualification for completing the course?
You will receive a certificate detailing the course you have completed, this is not a recognised qualification, however we are floristry leaders in our area and this will hold good status with potential employers.  

What will I take home with me at the end of the course?
Everything you make on the course you will take home.  The course tutor will also provide you with course notes so you can continue your learning at home.

How do I get to the Flower School?
By car; postcode for satnav is LN6 9AA.  Free parking is available at the front of our shop in the Church Hall car park or at the back of our shop in the Co-operative car park.  Lincoln Train Station is next to the Lincoln Bus Station.  Bus Number 127 to North Hykeham will take you directly outside our shop on Moor Lane.

Are there any access issues I should be aware of?
Although our shop is easily accessible with a ramp, the flower school is situated up a flight of stairs.  If you are unable to get up the stairs, we are able to offer our courses at an alternative venue upon request; give us a call.

How do I book and pay for my course?
When you have decided on the course you want to book, fill in our booking form.

You can pay by cash (in-shop only), cheque to ‘Flowers by Suzanne’ (in-shop or post with your booking form) or by card (all cards accepted including Amex).

What if I need to cancel my place?
If for any reason you need to cancel please let us know as soon as possible by calling 01522_ 690105.  The deposit is non-refundable at any time.  The rest of the course fee once paid is transferrable to another date should you need to cancel.  If we need to cancel your course at any time, we will call you as soon as possible and offer you an alternative date.
